Kent Surrey Sussex AHSN

kentKent Surrey Sussex Academic Health Science Network (KSS AHSN) was established in 2013, along with 14 other AHSNs, as part of a new network covering the whole of England.

The role of KSS AHSN is to ensure the benefits of healthcare innovation reach as many patients and communities as quickly as possible. Clinical needs and industry innovation are not always well aligned. Even when they are, the healthcare maze can make it very difficult for successful innovation to spread fast and wide. KSS AHSN has developed an approach to strengthen collaboration between industry, academia, health and social care.

KSS AHSN are continuously looking for more innovations with the potential to bring high patient and economic benefit. They are working with clinicians to share their challenges with university and industry colleagues, and develop solutions together.

KSS AHSN was the clinical lead on the COPD category in the 5th SBRI Healthcare competition.
