High blood ketones are associated with elevated breath acetone, and are indicative of the dangerous condition diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA). Oxford Medical Diagnostics has developed an affordable sensor technology suitable for home use that can measure breath acetone and provide a non-invasive early warning of this condition. This project deals with the industrial design of the device and its initial clinical assessment.
