| Project | Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) - Point-of-Care Diagnostics Test |
|---|---|
| Description |
Biovici proposes to develop an affordable, portable, point of care test to detect the presence of biomarkers linked with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). The device will identify biomarkers present in saliva, so as to create a non-invasive test, but also will be developed to analyse blood from a pin prick. This test can: potentially reduce the number of people attending A&E in the first place through screening at point of incident, aid triage and effectively manage the flow of patients into the correct departments, be utilised to aid the clinical decision maker by providing objective feedback and help reduce misdiagnosis |
