PsychologyOnline plan to offer remote delivery of personalised therapy to people with type 1 diabetes who are struggling to achieve optimal glycaemic control. Therapy will be delivered via text over the internet, using the PsychologyOnline (POL) website and diabetes specialist nurses who are trained to administer cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) integrated into delivery of usual diabetes care. Care will be augmented through the use of motivational enhancement tools via mobile phone, using a prototype of the uMotif app, which has already been evaluated by SBRI Healthcare for other indications.
