| Project | Co-designing improved treatment for recto-vaginal fistula; investigating the needs of women and assessing the feasibility of a novel, cost-effective device |
|---|---|
| Description |
Neotherix is an SME dedicated to developing solutions for problem wounds based on electrospun scaffolds. This project explores the feasibility of developing a novel device for recto-vaginal fistula treatment. Building on work conducted in fistula-in-ano, in collaboration with University of Birmingham, University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Trust, and SME Keighleycolo Ltd, the postulated device integrates a drainage seton with a bioresorbable scaffold to promote more effective drainage and repair. It aims to reduce the need for multiple surgeries and hospital admissions, improving patient outcomes with a less invasive approach. |
