Mayden House Ltd

Project Improving outcomes through automated, standardised assessments and machine learning
Description

Mayden will undertake the ‘SAPIO’ project with the objective to Streamline Assessment Pathways and Improve Outcomes in NHS psychological therapy (‘IAPT’) services. Patients will be able to self-administer a standardised online assessment which in turn could generate treatment insights through the application of machine learning techniques to assessment responses. This constitutes a total redesign of the referral-to-treatment segment of the IAPT care pathway using digital and data analytics technologies. SAPIO has the potential to significantly improve the patient’s experience of service access and assessment, whilst patients and the NHS will benefit from improved recovery rates and efficiencies.

Project Immersive gaming to better treat anxiety in young people
Description

BFB Labs is developing a highly immersive digital intervention called Lumi Nova: Tales of Courage, a mobile game, that uses exposure therapy techniques to provide timely support to young people aged 7-12 years. The intervention fuses the engaging nature of high quality games with exposure therapy, evidenced to be the most effective form of CBT, to provide support to young people facing difficulties with anxiety. Lumi Nova can be used at different points in a young person's care pathway, from early support via schools to signposting by GPs and via CAMHS at points of triaging, whilst on the waiting list for treatment , and alongside therapy as well as to prevent relapse.  Young people use the intervention at home on a mobile/tablet with support from a guardian and professionals can manage users and track data through a secure Data Hub. The intervention will be ready for market release in June 2020.
