i2r Medical

Project Diabetic wound treatment device
Description

I2r Medical is developing of a wound healing device specifically for the treatment of diabetic foot and leg wounds at an early stage to prevent infection and subsequent complications including amputations. A negative pressure wound treatment (NPWT) device which is compact and low cost, utilises peristaltic pump technology to remove the fluid from a wound directly. Being small and lightweight allows the device to be worn by the patient and provides continuous therapy regardless of the wound exudate viscosity and height differences between pump and wound, which can be a major issue with conventional systems.
