700,000 people experience heart attack symptoms annually, and will experience the agony of a long wait for test results. Capillary Film Technology (CFT) has developed affordable microfluidic testing technology that allows mass production of simple devices that can test 3 or more biomarkers in a single clinical sample. By measuring multiple cardiac markers, diagnosis of myocardial infarct (heart attack) can be made far more rapidly, not only speeding up treatment but also allowing many people to avoid a worrying and costly hospital stay. |
