Taragenyx is a medical implant company developing a broad pipeline of bioactive, therapeutic and regenerative coatings for orthopaedic and dental implants. Description

Peacocks Medical Group is combining existing orthotic designs with new additive manufacturing techniques. The aim of the project was to use finite element analysis (FEA) and additive manufacturing (AM) to develop and manufacture optimised foot orthotics for patients with pronation and supination issues.

Project Optimised pads for foot orthoses (OPFO)
Description

Foot orthoses (FO) are commonly used to reduce plantar pressure in diabetic feet. Peacock Medical Group’s project addresses the design and finite element optimisation of new kinds of FOs directly from 3D scan data and pressure measurements. The FOs would be manufactured directly via additive manufacturing (3D printing) utilising the design freedoms disruptive manufacturing processes provide.
